The Whale Shark is the largest species of fish living in seas and oceans. Adult individuals measure up to sixteen metres in length. The huge size and a menacing name could imply that whale sharks are dangerous predators. On the contrary, they feed almost exclusively on plankton. Their huge mouths can take in as much as one and a half million litres of water in an hour.
