In 2007 the archipelago of Maluku Islands (Indonesia) was still recovering from sectarian bloodshed. The conflict had scared away all tourists. The ones who decided to visit the islands after the ceasefire had to cope with the complete lack of infrastructure. Fortunately, the underwater world was not affected by fighting. As a result its treasures became once again accessible to divers. In the waters around the Banda Islands visitors can admire shoals of Redtooth Triggerfish consisting of thousands of individual fishes.
